I've been in your shoes.
I was a line HR executive for a family-owned business and I know first-hand how difficult it can be to spend all of your time on others' development. How about taking some time to "sharpen the saw," to borrow Stephen Covey's term?
Katherine Gilliland is a Business and Executive Coach with over 17 years' experience as a Change Management consultant, Human Resources executive and business coach.
Throughout her career, Katherine has focused on improving business performance through individual performance. She believes that removing barriers and providing targeted support helps people be – and achieve – their best. Moving into coaching was a natural progression for her career – now, she is focused on helping the individual remove his or her own barriers.
Katherine’s main coaching clientele include people who are preparing for or recently in a new position, company or work situation. This includes people who are new to an organization and its culture, have been newly promoted, or are seeking a change in their current professional role. Katherine applies her expertise in helping organizations move through the “change curve” to individuals – helping them minimize the depth and duration of inevitable productivity loss due to change, so that they can accelerate their positive influence and flourish in their new surroundings. Katherine also helps leaders simply wishing to expand their positive influence, as well as individuals who have identified a targeted area for development.
Katherine worked with Accenture (then Andersen Consulting) first as a computer programmer and then as a Change Management consultant; she continued her Change Management consulting with The Structure Group. In these roles, she worked for a variety of clients in the consumer products, financial and utilities industries, integrating strategic and technology-driven change. She managed multiple teams totaling up to $5 million in scheduled fees at one time. Katherine received Structure’s first “MVP Award” given to the employee who had the most significant contribution to the success of the company over the previous six months. She left the management consulting business to join a family-owned wholesale distributor to establish and run their Human Resources department. In that role, Katherine oversaw all traditional Human Resources roles (compliance, benefits, performance management, etc.) and established employee engagement and executive team communication processes.
Katherine graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a double major in English and Psychology and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She received her coaching training from North Carolina State University, and has achieved the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential through the International Coaching Federation (ICF). She is qualified to administer MBTI, DiSC and all Tilt 365 tools (True Tilt Profile, Tilt 365 Positive Influence Predictor, Team Tilt Profile).
