How do I approach consulting?
My philosophy is that my job as a consultant is to work myself out of a job. That is, I provide assistance in a targeted area for a short amount of time... all while I transfer the knowledge to you and your organization so that the change can be sustained over time. I believe that I am only successful if my clients are successful in the long run.
Consulting is different from coaching - coaching draws the answer out of the client and the client is wholly responsible for any action; consulting gives the client training or advice to consider, and may help with the implementation. Coaching and consulting don't have to be mutually exclusive - a package may include a combination of the two.
